Breaking: Ferrari ‘Not Worried’ by Hamilton’s Recent Form
Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur has downplayed concerns over Lewis Hamilton’s impressive performances in the latter part of the 2024 Formula 1 season. Speaking to reporters ahead of the season finale, Vasseur expressed confidence in Ferrari’s ability to maintain its competitive edge despite Hamilton’s resurgence with Mercedes.
Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has delivered a string of strong results in recent races, including podium finishes and a race win in Qatar. His recent form has reignited Mercedes’ hopes of challenging Ferrari for the runner-up position in the Constructors’ Championship. However, Vasseur insists that Ferrari remains focused on its own performance rather than on external threats.
“We respect Lewis and everything he’s achieved, but we are not worried,” Vasseur said. “Our focus is on maximizing our car’s potential and ensuring our drivers, Charles [Leclerc] and Carlos [Sainz], are in the best position to deliver results. What happens outside our garage is secondary.”
Ferrari has enjoyed a mixed season, with moments of brilliance tempered by inconsistency. Leclerc has secured multiple victories, while Sainz has been a reliable points scorer. However, the Scuderia has faced challenges in maintaining a consistent pace across different circuits, something Mercedes seems to have addressed in recent upgrades.
Hamilton’s resurgence comes amid speculation about his future, with rumors suggesting he is eager to contend for an eighth world title before retirement. While Mercedes appears to be gaining momentum, Ferrari remains determined to end the season on a high note.
“We have a clear plan for the final race,” Vasseur added. “Our goal is to finish strong and carry that momentum into 2025. It’s a long-term project, and we’re confident in our direction.”
The season finale promises an intense battle, with Ferrari and Mercedes vying for supremacy both on and o
