Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly monitoring the progress of Brazil international goalkeeper Bento but face fierce competition from Premier League rivals Chelsea and Nottingham Forest.
The 24-year-old impressed on his Seleçao Canarinha debut at Wembley Stadium on Saturday as kept a clean sheet in a surprise 1-0 win over England. Bento twice kept out efforts on target from Newcastle United winger and Three Lions debutant Anthony Gordon, while Manchester City star Phil Foden was denied once.
Serie A champions-to-be Inter Milan were close to signing Bento in January, but the shot-stopper stayed at Brazilian side Athletico Paranaense. That dialogue could be recommenced in the summer window, but interest from the Premier League could prompt a transfer to England instead.
HITC exclusively reports that Wolves and Forest, both often involved in the South American market, have made Bento a priority target. Meanwhile, Chelsea added the player to their list as they look to replace Robert Sanchez, somewhat of a flop since signing from Brighton & Hove Albion.
