It is fair to assume that several of Leeds United’s transfer decisions under Jesse Marsch did not go as planned.
The Whites signed six new players during Marsch’s lone summer as manager, however Wilfried Gnonto is the only one who is still at the club, with the rest being sold or loaned out.
There were a few player sales made during that window, with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha making the most headlines, but there is one Leeds regret that stands out above the rest.
That’s Leif Davis. Leeds sold Davis to Ipswich Town for £1.2 million, and in the one-and-a-half seasons since, he has been a major part of the club’s extraordinary resurgence.
According to talkSPORT, West Ham and Newcastle United have expressed interest in signing Davis ahead of the summer due to his form at Ipswich.
West Ham and Newcastle want Davis
Davis has established himself as an assist king since joining the Tractor Boys, providing 26 assists from left-back, 12 of which have come this season. No player has more, though Georginio Rutter and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have the same.
The 24-year-old is, of course, pushing to beat his former club Leeds to promotion this season as Ipswich currently sit third on 72 points, behind the Whites only on goal difference.
