West Ham have been offered the opportunity to sign Marseille winger Ismaila Sarr hours before the transfer window closes at 11 pm, according to Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via its website [1 February] that the Ligue 1 team have offered the Hammers a chance to sign their forward as they take on Bournemouth in the Premier League.
David Moyes is light in the attacking department following the likely departures of Pablo Fornals to Real Betis and Said Benrahma to Lyon, with Sarr offering an exciting addition before the transfer window closes.
No need to think twice
It seemed that any chance West Ham had of signing Sarr was over, with all leads going cold in recent days. However, the hunt for the Senegalese international is well and truly back on.
Considering the Hammers’ current situation, the club would be stupid to turn down the opportunity to sign Sarr on a loan deal, whether it is until the end of the season or for 18 months.
West Ham have been crying out for a brand-new winger, even before the deals for Benrahma and Fornals emerged. The club attempted to sign Jota from Al Ittihad and Ibrahim Osman from Nordsjaelland but both deals fell through.
With that in mind, the London club are not in a position to be picky and should snap up the signing of Sarr imminently, with hours of the transfer window remaining. The former Watford man has previous experience in the Premier League, which Moyes will appreciate in the forward, boasting 34 goals in 131 appearances for the Hornets.
