West Ham United: Eddie Howe shares ‘crazy’ David Moyes sack verdict ahead of Newcastle clash

West Ham United fans calling for David Moyes to be sacked at the London Stadium have been labelled “crazy” by Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe.

The Hammers boss has come under increased pressure in 2024 due to the Irons’ poor form in the Championship, with some supporters suggesting a different manager would get more out of the West Ham side.

While it seems likely that the Scotsman may now extend his stay beyond the end of the season, Howe has admitted that he has been left baffled by the mounting pressure on Moyes in East London.

As quoted by Chronicle Live on Friday (29 March) he said: “It’s crazy, he has been consistent in the Premier League for some time and you always know what you are going to get from his teams.

“He has done a great job there, silverware last year and a good consistent campaign last year. We’re all under pressure and all in difficult jobs. A bad spell brings pressure and that goes with the territory now.”

Will West Ham United sack David Moyes despite Eddie Howe’s comments?

Moyes has had a tumultuous relationship with West Ham fans throughout both of his spells at the London Stadium, but he has shown in the last few weeks he is worthy of a new contract beyond the end of the season.

The Europa League win over Freiburg partnered with important Premier League wins against the likes of Brentford and Everton have eased the pressure slightly, but there are still supporters who are unhappy.
