An old video surfaced of a young Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez demonstrating his dunking ability.
It looks like Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez was prepared to compete in the NBA slam dunk contest years ago.
An old video of him supposedly resurfaced last week, demonstrating his dunking abilities at a young age. Jaquez was hardly more than a child in the short video.
The video begins with a small Jaquez stating that he is dunking. When asked who he looks like, he says, “Like Shaq.” Jaquez then climbs a chair before eventually dunking the ball. The smash caused the entire hoop to topple.
Here is a glance at the video that was released on social media:

He will compete in the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest alongside star Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), defending champion Mac McClung (Osceola Magic), and forward Jacob Toppin (New York Knicks).
On ‘Podcast P with Paul George’, Jaquez revealed part of his winning strategy.
“I think I got one dunk that you guys are gonna be surprised to see,” Jaquez went on to say. “We got a lot of work behind the scenes being put into the creativity of all this.”
Jaquez, who spent four years at UCLA, is the first Heat player to compete since Derrick Jones Jr. won the championship in 2020.
