Update On Myles Garrett’s Injury: Browns Standout Will Get An MRI After Feeling His Shoulder “Pop” Against The Broncos

This season, the Browns have suffered more injuries than any other NFL club, and on Sunday, that trend persisted.

Cleveland has persevered through several significant player absences this season, but in a Week 12 loss to the Broncos, the injury bug finally got the better of them.

Temporary beginning QB Following the Browns’ 29–12 loss to Denver, Dorian Thompson–Robinson had a concussion. Pro Bowl corner Denzel Ward was already sidelined due to a shoulder injury, and leading wide receiver Amari Cooper also departed the game due to a rib injury after taking a hard hit.

Things went from bad to worse after the game when star pass rusher and Defensive Player of the Year candidate Myles Garrett revealed he also suffered a shoulder injury in the loss to the Broncos.

Cleveland has maintained a respectable 7-4 record despite all the injuries, sitting in a Wild Card spot in the AFC Playoff Picture through 12 weeks.

Myles Garrett shoulder injury update

Garrett played the full game against the Broncos, but he later revealed to the media that he felt something pop in his left shoulder during the contest.

“I’m not going to come out unless it’s falling off,” Garrett said when asked how he was feeling during the game. “I want to win just as much as the rest of these guys. … I’m giving them every ounce I’ve got, I don’t care how I’m feeling.”

He left the locker room in a sling and said he’ll get the shoulder examined after the Browns fly to Los Angeles for their Week 13 matchup against the Rams.

When asked if he expects to play against Los Angeles, Garrett delivered the only answer you would expect from one of the toughest players in the NFL.

“I mean, we’ll see. At the end of the day, I’ve played through things that should have sidelined me before and I’m gonna continue to fight,” he told the media.

“I’ll do what’s best for the team and for myself but we have high hopes for this season and nothing like this is gonna hold us back or me back.”

Garrett is having a Defensive Player of the Year-caliber season, leading the NFL with 13.0 sacks while ranking third with four forced fumbles. He also has 11 tackles for a loss and 30 total tackles. He has played a massive role in the Browns’ defense allowing an NFL-best 247.9 yards per game.
