Earlier this evening, O Jogo reported David Carmo would be leaving FC Porto and joining Olympiacos in a permanent transfer.
This wasn’t especially surprising, given the defender spent last season on loan at the Greek club and they’ve been trying to get him back for much of the summer.
The Portuguese newspaper reported an agreement was reached in the past few hours, and that’s why Carmo wasn’t called up for the match against Rio Ave. The value of the deal was put at €11m plus €4m bonuses, so €15m.
However, Bruno Andrade, who works for Portugal’s Mais Futebol reports it’s actually Nottingham Forest buying the player.
Andrade reports the transfer is happening at the same figures as above but Nottingham Forest are buying Carmo from Porto and then loaning him to Olympiacos.
A Bola, another Portuguese newspaper, don’t mention Nottingham Forest, and the same is true for Record.
There’s no reason to doubt Andrade on this but it’ll be interesting to see how the deal works in the end.
