Two Defenders Are Placed On Injured Reserve By Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals finally won their second game of the season, defeating the Atlanta Falcons 25-23, when quarterback Kyler Murray made his comeback in Week 10 following an ACL tear late in the previous campaign.

However, they were defeated by the Houston Texans this past Sunday, 21-16, and it was evident once more that they don’t have much left to play for the remainder of the season.

Nevertheless, Arizona hopes to defeat the struggling Los Angeles Rams this weekend in order to record their third victory of 2023.

Per Ian Rapoport, the Cardinals have put defensive lineman Leki Fotu and linebacker Kyzir White on their injured reserve list.

Fotu is in his fourth pro season out of the University of Utah, where he was named a second-team All-American as a senior.

The Cardinals took him in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, and in four years, he has put up 86 tackles (42 solo), 12 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, and 3.5 sacks while starting in 21 of his 55 games.

White is in his first season with the Cardinals after playing for the Philadelphia Eagles last season and the Los Angeles Chargers the previous four years.

In 11 games this year he has 90 tackles (53 solo), nine tackles for loss, three passes defended, and one interception.

White, a fourth-round draft choice in 2018 after two seasons of college football at West Virginia University, has started in all 11 games this season.

After playing the Rams, Arizona will visit the 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers, and after their ensuing bye week, they will host the 7-3 San Francisco 49ers.
