After a transfer search, Nottingham Forest striker Gibbs-White’s point was made.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo believes Nottingham Forest have enough attacking threat in the squad to navigate the lack of a deadline day striker signing.

Bringing in a front man was a priority for the Reds before the summer window closed. Eddie Nketiah, Santiago Gimenez and Omar Marmoush were on their radar but Friday’s cut-off passed without another forward added.

It will fall on Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi to carry Forest through, at least until January. And the former bagged his second goal of the campaign in Saturday’s frustrating 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wood could have added to his tally further at the City Ground. He was denied by a very good save from Sam Johnstone and had a late effort ruled out for offside.

But although the hosts had to settle for a point in their final game before the international break, they did look good going forward against Wolves – not least with the magic of Morgan Gibbs-White on show. The attacker put in a terrific display before he heads off to the England senior squad for the first time.

With Wood, Awoniyi, Gibbs-White and others in the side Forest have plenty about them to cause opposition sides problems. Nuno also sees new wingers Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa as options to help out up front. Below is a look at what the Portuguese had to say after the final whistle, including his verdict on transfers, the match and Gibbs-White’s call-up.
