Tottenham move to sign ‘huge’ £30m star as Spurs line up first summer transfer

Nottingham Forest will be forced to sell players before June to avoid further points deduction

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to make a move for the Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi with Football Insider suggesting this could well take place before the end of June.

Nottingham Forest, who escaped relegation by finishing 17th in the Premier League this season, will be forced to sell players before the end of June if they wish to avoid being handed a further points deduction. The former Chelsea starlet is being viewed as one such player with sources saying Spurs view the 23-year-old has having ‘huge’ potential and his current club’s financial situation will make it much easier for him to lured away from the City Ground.

The north London side have already announced that RB Leipzig star Timo Werner will be extending his loan stay at the club until the end of the next season, with the new agreement now including a £8.5m option to buy. However, the N17 club are not done with improving their attacking options and the Tottenham Hotspur board are hopeful of bringing in younger attacking players this summer with England international Hudson-Odoi one of several reported targets.

The 23-year-old winger previously came up through the Chelsea academy ranks and was set to be one of the brightest youth talents in England. in March 2019, he became the second youngest player to start a competitive match for England – after Wayne Rooney in April 2003 – when he played in England’s 5-1 win over Montenegro.
