Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.

According to a report from Football Insider, the North London club have been watching the 24-year-old closely ahead of a potential move. Gibbs-White has had an impressive campaign with Nottingham Forest scoring six goals in all competitions and picking up 10 assists along the way.

He could prove to be a quality acquisition for the North London club and his versatility will be an added bonus. He is capable of slotting into the attacking midfield role, and he can play in the wide areas as well. He will add goals, drive and creativity to the Tottenham midfield.

Spurs are currently lacking a quality backup option to James Maddison. They have been overly dependent on the former Leicester City midfielder for creativity from the central areas. The arrival of Gibbs-White will certainly help share the creative burden with the England international.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure an agreement with Nottingham Forest. The Premier League side paid £42.5 million to sign the player and they will look to make a profit on him. Gibbs-White is likely to be an expensive acquisition.

Tottenham will have to strengthen the other areas of their squad as well, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they are priced out of a move for the 24 year-old midfielder.

Spurs have secured Europa League qualification for the next season and they will be expected to push for trophies. The 24-year-old midfielder will certainly be attracted to the idea of joining them, and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can finalise an agreement.
