Eli Tomac, a renowned figure in motocross, has confirmed his return to Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing for the 2025 season, which he plans to make his final year in professional racing. In 2025, Tomac aims to compete across the Monster Energy Supercross, Pro Motocross, and SuperMotocross World Championship series, setting the stage for a powerful farewell tour.
Tomac’s career with Yamaha has been a standout since he joined the team in 2022. During that debut season, he achieved both the 450SX Supercross and 450MX Pro Motocross titles, showcasing his skill on the Yamaha YZ450F. This period also saw him lead Team USA to victory in the prestigious Motocross of Nations. However, his recent seasons were cut short by injuries, hindering his run in the last two Supercross series. Despite these setbacks, Tomac’s career boasts an impressive record of 52 Supercross wins, second only on the all-time list, and he holds the record for the most victories at Daytona Supercross, tied with NASCAR legend Richard Petty.
For 2025, Tomac and his team are set on securing another championship. According to Yamaha’s Racing Department, the team is committed to supporting Tomac in reaching his goals, with hopes of ending his racing career on a triumphant note. “Now is the time to enjoy the ride, get back to winning races, and compete for the SuperMotocross title,” Tomac stated, expressing enthusiasm for his final season.
With a legacy that has made him one of motocross’s most celebrated athletes, fans and the racing community will be closely watching as Tomac races toward what promises to be an unforgettable final season.
