Before the Miami Dolphins welcome the Atlanta Falcons to Miami Gardens on Tuesday and Wednesday for joint practices, I thought it would be nice to look at the five three storylines I’m most excited to watch unfold this week in South Florida.
Here are five storylines I’m watching as the Miami Dolphins prepare to take on the Atlanta Falcons this Friday at Hard Rock Stadium:
Are the Dolphins young players ready to step up?
I’ve been on vacation the last few days, but now that I’ve caught up, it seems that outside of the record-setting contract extensions, most of the buzz from the first week of training camp surrounded Miami’s young players.
Tight end Tanner Conner has been a fan favorite and someone the coaching staff has talked fondly of for a few years. Cornerback Ethan Bonner also appears ready to break out. He, too, has been a player the fanbase has rallied behind, but this year, Bonner has been hyped up by Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, among others. Are they ready to seize the moment?
And then there’s first-round pick Chop Robinson, who has consistently shown off his #elite first step and pass-rush ability. Can he prove to be dominant and an x-factor early on? What about Mo Kamara, who could also have a more prominent role early on with Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips on the Physically Unable-To-Perform List?
Hell, maybe even Channing Tindall will show out and prove he deserves a spot on the 53-man roster.
