Slobodan Rubezic recklessly challenged Kyogo, who lost, but claims he has no memory of allegedly refusing a handshake.
After taking a hit to the head, Kyogo claims he doesn’t recall anything from the moment of his injury scare versus Aberdeen, but that “everything is fine” now.
After Slobodan Rubezic’s careless challenge, the Celtics’ star player struck the deck, which instantly alarmed his teammates. He needed assistance being taken off the field so that Oh could take his place while he lay unconscious on the Parkhead floor and doctors raced to help. Once he was upright again, there were rumors that he was clattering into the forward.
Brendan Rodgers said after the 6-0 win that it was a ‘nasty blow’ and ruled Kyogo out of playing for Japan in the upcoming international break. And that had sparked worry over a concussion that could keep him out for a longer spell. The striker though says doctors have assured him he’s fine – even if he can’t remember anything that happened after he went down.
Insisting he recalls nothing about snubbing Rubezic’s attempt to make amends, he posted on Instagram: “I don’t know how long I was there, but I don’t remember anything about my friends worrying about me afterward, about walking off the pitch on my own. I don’t remember anything.
“At the hospital, I was told that everything was fine and I felt that the football gods had protected me. I will never forget my gratitude and will do my best for the future.”
