Kalen DeBoer achieved something right by combining his Alabama coaching staff with a touch of Washington.
He has coaches and players who are eager to win the College Football Playoff National CSincehampionship at Alabama. The Crimson Tide were eliminated from the College Football Playoff in the 2023 season after losing to Michigan in the Rose Bowl. It marked Nick Saban’s final game as head coach.

Washington lost to Michigan in the 2024 CFP National Championship Game to finish the ’23 season. We now have coaches and players from the Huskies on Alabama’s roster with a common goal. They know how it feels to be at the door of a national championship, but have it snatched away from them. The Tide worked hard in the Fourth Quarter Program to build up its toughness, commitment, relentless competitiveness, effort, and excellence to assure itself a chance to bounce back.
JaMarcus Shephard, an associate head coach, was one of the primary voices motivating athletes in several video clips from the offseason program. He was featured in an interview with Ryan Fowler of The Game on Tide 100.9FM. Shephard stated that there is ‘no question’ that this team is motivated to win a national championship. Alabama begins spring practice on Monday, March 4.
“There is no question about it,” Shephard said of last season’s motivation for this Alabama team to win the national championship.
