Simon Jordan has reinstated his view that Chelsea can win the Premier League in the near future, even as soon as this season by challenging table toppers Liverpool.
With Arne Slot’s side eight points clear at the top and champions Manchester City struggling, Chelsea and Arsenal are tied on points with both having won six games, drawn four and lost two.
Speaking on talkSPORT with Sam Matterface, ex-Crystal Palace chairman Jordan admitted he thinks Chelsea have got what it takes to challenge for the top spot come May, a view he expressed last year.

“Chelsea are starting to find their fruition,” he said on talkSPORT after last season saw the Blues struggle to find consistency with their quickly-assembled £1billion squad.
They finished sixth last term, winning 18 games, drawing nine and losing 11, but Jordan insists they are a different side this campaign.
He added: “I’ve got a feeling it will be Arsenal and Man City fighting for third and fourth, and it’ll be Chelsea and Liverpool fighting for the league.
“Chelsea are becoming a significant side. Jackson is scoring goals now. The team looks better, they look like they’ve gelled.
“I said Chelsea will be competitive in the Premier League and potentially win it in the next three years, now you’ve got a team that are in that space already.”
The comments come after Jordan said in October last year that ‘Chelsea will get there’, adding that they ‘will win the Premier League in the next two or three years’.
Many fans were quick to laugh at his suggestion, even Chelsea fans themselves.
But under new boss Enzo Maresca, Chelsea have had a significantly better start to the season this year.
Their only two league defeats have come against Manchester City and Liverpool, with the Blues unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, including a draw against Arsenal.
Chelsea last won the Premier League in the 2016-17 season under Antonio Conte.
Thomas Tuchel’s tenure led the club to their second Champions League, beating Man City in the final in Porto. That same year they won the Super Cup and Club World Cup, marking their last piece of silverware.
Chelsea next face Bundesliga side Heidenheim in the Europa Conference League on Thursday before hosting Aston Villa in the top-flight at the weekend.
