Some big-time contributors will be showcasing their talents to NFL teams in the Senior Bowl.
Just 24 hours after winning the National Championship, seven Michigan Wolverines have accepted invites to the Reese’s Senior Bowl and will showcase their talents to NFL teams before the draft.
The seven players participating include wide receiver Roman Wilson, tight end A.J. Barner, offensive tackle LaDarius Henderson, left guard Trevor Keegan, defensive end Braiden McGregor, linebacker Michael Barrett, and cornerback Mike Sainristil.
All seven of these players made significant contributions to help Michigan win the natty. Sainristil and Keegan were captains on the team, Wilson led the Wolverines in receiving yards and touchdowns, Barrett and McGregor were key pieces in the front seven, and Barner and Henderson were vital additions in the transfer portal who contributed to Michigan rushing for a CFP/BCS record 303 yards in the National Championship.
None of these players accepting invites is particularly surprising; all of these players have NFL aspirations, and a few should be able to contribute at the pro level as early as next fall. Ending your college career with a national championship is a pretty sweet way to ride off into the sunset.
That said, accepting an invite does NOT mean these seven players are officially entering into the draft, but show where they may be leaning.
The Senior Bowl will be on Saturday, Feb. 3 on NFL Network, with a week of practices leading up to it. Stay with Maize n Brew for updates regarding that, the draft status for juniors and seniors on the team, and all other offseason news; let’s be honest, it’s probably going to be one of the busiest offseasons in Michigan football history.
