The Swiss Maestro, together with Wilson, has designed the RF 01 racketRoger
Roger Federer is still in tennis, even if he officially gave his farewell to the 2022 edition of the Laver Cup. The Swiss Maestro, however, has never completely abandoned tennis. We often see him attending the most important tournaments such as Wimbledon, or working to organize the editions of the Laver Cup.
Now, together with his former technical racket brand Wilson, Federer has designed a new racket called the RF 01, inspired by his four children. Federer has always used Wilson rackets during his glorious career; tools that have accompanied the Swiss through 21 years of successes and records. In an interview with Tim Henman for Forbers, Roger revealed what features he thought about when designing the racket.
“I was doing extensive racquet testing and we got to a point where I think about the weight, the size, the shape of the frame, and we got there very quickly. When we started building it, I was still wondering what I needed to get back. I started thinking about other players, what they could use as well,” told Federer to Newcomb.

Recently on the podcast What Now? with Trevor Noah, the Swiss legend touched on a variety of topics during the interview, conducted following the release of the documentary Twelve Final Days about his retirement.
“Hopefully Novak Djokovic can continue to break records. Rafael Nadal knew he was in a tough situation too and he hopes to win as much as possible,” said Roger, who then added more in-depth thoughts on tennis: “I feel really relieved now and I see every athlete or every person who gives the highest level that has all my respect. We were talking about how I had played 1526 matches and I realized I had done a lot of marathons. I’m so relieved not to have to do that anymore. I mean, it was fun but especially towards the end I remember the warm-up, the breaks and the warm-up to go out and play. It was a monumental effort. Now you say: What’s so important? It’s just tennis. Yes, it’s just tennis, but it’s your life and you tried to do your best in front of people.”
