Report: LSU Basketball Coach Sends Message To Hailey Van Lith After Transfer Decision

Hailey Van Lith will be playing for a different women’s basketball program next year.

After spending one season at LSU, she entered her name into the transfer portal when its season ended. She has one year of eligibility left since the NCAA granted it to athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though she’ll be with a new school for the 2024-25 season, LSU assistant coach Joe Schwartz wants the absolute best for her.

“Thank you for everything this year. Thank you for being a leader, thank you for your work ethic, and thank you for joining the LSU family. Going to miss those early mornings and late nights in the gym—but I know your future is bright. Family for Life,” he tweeted.

Van Lith averaged 11.6 points and 3.6 assists per game during her one season in Baton Rouge. Before transferring to LSU, she spent the first three seasons of her collegiate career with Louisville.

For her career, she has averaged 14.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.

LSU recently lost to Iowa in the Elite Eight after winning the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

Let’s see where Van Lith ends up for next season.
