Besiktas have the chance to sign Ridvan Yilmaz instead of Galatasaray with Rangers required to send them an email intimation, according to Gokmen Ozcan.
The Fanatik journalist reported on 1 February that if Gers are to reach an agreement with any club for the sale of the Turkey defender, they will have to inform Besiktas about it.
The Turkish club can then decide whether or not they want to match that price and then Yilmaz himself makes the ultimate decision.
Via Twitter, Ozcan wrote: “If Rangers reaches an agreement with a Super League team for Rıdvan Yılmaz, they will send a procedure e-mail to Beşiktaş. Even if Beşiktaş makes the same offer, the player will make the decision.
“Rıdvan wants to stay with Rangers. Since the transfer in Europe will close today, Rangers will not leave their 11 players.”
Regardless of whether Besiktas or Galatasaray come calling, Gers must not sell Yilmaz unless and until a left-back has already arrived at Ibrox.
The Turkey international’s recent ascension to the starting left-back role over Borna Barisic underscores his significance to the team.
With the collapse of the Jefte deal from Fluminense, Gers would face a positional shortage at left-back if Yilmaz departs and Philippe Clement would not want that.
Also, Barisic’s deal runs out at the end of the season and having a player facing an uncertain future is never an ideal thing for a manager.
Hopefully, Yilmaz doesn’t cause a scene in the final hours of the window and that does not seem likely as he would’ve informed the club about his interests long back.

It’s clear that Galatasaray are desperate but every player has their price and so far, the Turkish side have come nowhere close to it.
