*RACE AGAINST TIME: Hull City Captain Lewie Coyle Battles to Be Fit for Season Opener*

Hull City captain Lewie Coyle is facing a tight deadline to recover from a muscle injury in time for the team’s season opener against Bristol City on August 11. Coyle suffered the injury during Saturday’s friendly against Newcastle United and missed Tuesday’s match against Fiorentina.

Manager Tim Walter is hopeful Coyle will be fit for the season opener but admits it will be a close call. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Harvey Cartwright is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing hand surgery.

On a positive note, Thimothee Lo-Tutala is back in light training after missing time with an injury and is expected to return next week. Lo-Tutala’s return is welcome news for Hull City, who are currently short on goalkeeping options.

Walter is taking a cautious approach with Coyle’s recovery, saying: “We have to be careful with him and take care of him because we need him for the start (of the season).”
