Jonathan Walters has taken aim at a couple of Nottingham Forest players after yesterday’s defeat to Brentford.
The former Premier League striker made his claim on X.
So, what has Walters said about Forest after their defeat to Brentford? Let’s take a closer look…
What Jonathan Walters said about Forest after Saturday loss
Well, it would appear that the man who played for the Republic of Ireland during his career wasn’t happy with Forest for the first goal.
Walters has a particular gripe with Danilo and Matt Turner – defending Ryan Yates for seemingly predicting it would happen.
Brentford were given a free kick in a dangerous position midway through the first half, with Ivan Toney stood over it.
Last season, the striker scored from a similar area and lightning did indeed strike twice for Forest.
Danilo was acting as the draught excluder laying across the back of the wall – something that Walters doesn’t understand!
This morning, Walters took to X and he’s less than impressed with the Forest goal that Forest conceded. He posted…
When are players going to stop lying down behind walls?!
It’s Pointless. He’s lying down doing zero!
If he gets up and joins the end of the wall, this isn’t a goal.
Yates knew exactly what was coming!

Forest have to stop conceding soft goals
Add being unable to build a wall to the list of things Matt Turner seemingly struggles with as a goalkeeper.
From the moment Orel Mangala gave a free-kick away this was calamitous from a Forest point of view.
Walters is probably right. Had Danilo stood on the end of the wall instead, it would have made life far trickier for Toney to score.
Some have suggested that Toney moved the ball. However, the defensive team has to be alert to these things even if it is a little naughty from the striker.
Walters has made a great point about Forest last night and this will definitely be something for Nuno Espirito Santo – and set-piece coach Simon Rusk – to work on.
