Newcastle United go in at the break 2-0 up but there are concerns for Alexander Isak
Newcastle United are in full control at half-time thanks to two goals from Fabian Schar – but have been dealt with a hammer blow after Alexander Isak was forced off injured before the break.
Newcastle edged possession in the opening quarter of the match but could create only two meaningful attempts at Emiliano Martinez’s Holte End goal. One was saved by the Argentina star’s feet as Anthony Gordon was denied before Alexander Isak’s effort was curled wide on the follow up.
Fabian Schar then scored two close range efforts in the space of four minutes to rock Villa. But there was a bad taste in the mouth for United as Isak was forced off and replaced by Miguel Almiron.
