Rangers need to prioritize the January sale and not take a chance on keeping Kemar Roofe.
Rangers has to consider to part ways with Kemar Roofe during the January transfer window because they cannot afford to wait for him to demonstrate his level of health.
The 30-year-old should be let go by the club since he might be able to command a respectable price from English Championship teams.
Despite having participated in six league games this season, he may be in better shape, but there is always a chance that this will happen again.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Dr Rajpal Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Based on the manager’s comments and injury history, Roofe has been dealing with repeat issues of the same injuries and the club have been trying to get him on the pitch to play quickly rather than take the longer course of determining the root causes.
“Players can get into a vicious cycle of injury-reinjury, which is what he is in and he could have a similar lengthy setback in the future, especially with muscular injuries, and that often requires a much deeper look at the root causes.“
This clearly shows that another injury could once again see him miss weeks and maybe even months and that has been the case over the last few seasons already for him.
In January, Clement might need a true wide player and a center-back, and moving Roofe might even free up money to sign one of those players.
Roofe has only made 13 league starts since the 2021–2022 season, four of which have come this term. As a result, his availability has been a huge problem, and it could be time to call it quits.
It remains to be seen if Gers pull the trigger, although it appears to be in their best interests to do so.
