For a third straight game, the Los Angeles Lakers took a lead over the Denver Nuggets into the locker room at halftime on Thursday night. And for a third straight game, the Nuggets stormed back to ultimately win the contest, making NBA Playoffs history in the process.
Denver, victorious by a score of 112-105, became only the fourth team in NBA history to win the first three games of a series after trailing at halftime in each contest, according to Malika Andrews and Matt Williams of ESPN.
The Nuggets, who hold a commanding 3-0 lead over the Lakers in their first-round series, have now defeated Los Angeles 11 consecutive times, including both regular season and playoff games.
Los Angeles held a largest lead of 12 points in Game 1, a 20-point lead in Game 2 and led by 12 points on Thursday night. But each time, the Lakers watched those leads evaporate.
Whether it’s a victory by a narrow or wide margin, Denver, powered by two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and a strong supporting cast, just seems to have LeBron James and the Lakers’ number.
The Lakers will get a chance to keep their season alive in Game 4 at the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday night.
