Nottingham Forest will now offer £20m for winger compared to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior

Another day of the transfer window means another name to throw into the mix as a potential signing for Nottingham Forest.

The Reds have learned from their hectic summer transfer window when they first won promotion to the Premier League in 2022.

On that occasion, 23 players were added to the ranks with many of those making little to no impact on the first-team squad.

This summer is all about quality over quantity and so far five players have been added with one of those – Marko Stamenic – joining Olympiacos on loan.

It’s absolutely no secret that Forest are keen to sign a winger – or two – and now there is a new name that appears to be on the shortlist.

Nottingham Forest move move for Corinthians player Wesley

The Brazilian giants must be desperately sick of Forest ringing them to check on one of their top players.

Last summer, Forest signed Murillo and 12 months later the Reds poached goalkeeper Carlos Miguel for just £4 million.

Now, journalist Bruno Andrade has claimed that Forest are making moves to sign talented winger Wesley.

A move to Al Nassr has fallen through for the Brazilian trickster and now Forest are set to come forward with a £20 million bid.

Wesley has come through the ranks with Corinthians and during the 2023/24 campaign, he’s scored five goals and claimed four assists.

He typically operates on the left flank but he would be another right-footed winger added to the squad if Forest land him.

Wesley compared to Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior

In a Give Me Sport article earlier this year, Wesley was compared to the man who won the Champions League with Real Madrid last season.

It’s claimed that his dribbling skills are similar and his knack of cutting inside from the left onto his ferocious right foot makes him dangerous.

At 19-years-old, Wesley would likely prove a very fruitful signing for Forest and would make a decent alternative to Ramon Sosa – although the Reds are still interested in him too.

Other Premier League clubs have looked at Wesley in the past, with West Ham and Newcastle both linked with a move for his signature.

Forest are in the market for a new winger this summer and spending £20 million on a player with vast potential in Wesley would make for very savvy business indeed.
