Nottingham Forest want 26-year-old who wins more ground duels than Taiwo Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest are back in the market for Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia amid a long-standing interest in the player.

This news comes from Alfredo Pedulla.

So, what has been said about Forest and their interest in Dia? Let’s take a closer look…

Nottingham Forest now want Boulaye Dia again

Well, it would appear as though Forest have placed the Senegal international back on their radar this month.

It’s no secret that Nuno Espirito Santo would welcome the chance to sign another striker, with Taiwo Awoniyi currently unavailable.

According to Alfredo Pudella, Dia is wanted by several clubs with West Ham and Spartak Moscow both liking the striker.

The good news for the two Premier League clubs is that Dia’s preference is to head to England should he choose to leave Salernitana.

Forest were previously linked with Dia when he had a release clause of £21 million, although that has expired now.

Still, the right offer could lead to the striker leaving Salernitana, with the Premier League a preference for the player.

Who is Boulaye Dia?

The striker has missed out on the African Cup of Nations through injury but he is expected to be back later this month.

Dia has enjoyed a bit of an intriguing career, playing for Reims, Villarreal and now Salernitana.

His best form has come in Italy, with the striker scoring 20 goals in 47 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

Intriguingly, Dia appears a striker who gives his all and Squawka shows that he actually wins more ground duels than Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi does.

As a result, the player might make a decent player to come in and compete with the Nigerian and Chris Wood for the starting spot.

Forest might have to fight off some bigger clubs to sign Dia.

Furthermore, it could be a signing that isn’t financially obtainable this month but given the interest before, it looks like Dia to Forest could be one to watch.
