Nottingham Forest’s financial situation is likely to once again be in the spotlight now the summer transfer window is open.
The Reds were docked four points last season for breaching Profitability and Sustainability Rules and they will want to avoid a repeat scenario this time around. Player sales are therefore claimed to be required to help balance the books.
There is no need for a fire-sale at the City Ground. A report by The Telegraph earlier this week stated Forest need to raise roughly £20 million in transfer sales before the end of the current PSR assessment period on June 30.
The club are not alone in having to face the prospect of letting players go in order to keep within the permitted losses. It has been reported Chelsea, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Everton and Leicester City are in the same boat.
With that in mind, transfermarkt have given their interpretation of the market value of members of the Reds’ squad. Below is a look at transfermarkt’s list; bear in mind, the figure stated does not necessarily match Forest’s valuation and in some cases is understood to be way off. Not all players on the club’s books are included in the website’s audit.
