Nottingham Forest are busy trying to finalise their squad for the 2024/25 campaign and there is work to do ahead of the deadline.
A new striker is on the shortlist for the Reds as the club looks to ensure they’re well-stocked for the endeavours this season.
The Reds need to make sure they have enough cover to ensure they can kick on this season and ultimately, more players need to come into the club.
Forest looked at Santiago Gimenez and Eddie Nketiah to bolster the striker ranks, while Alex Moreno signed on loan from Aston Villa last week.
Chelsea offer player to Nottingham Forest
According to Si Phillips talks Chelsea, the Reds have been offered one of their players ahead of the transfer deadline.
Chelsea have become a bit of a basket case under Todd Boehly and have a number of surplus players.
The Blues had 24 players not even in their 20-man Premier League squad against Manchester City last week and that isn’t good.
As a result, the club will be trying to do all it can to get some of those players out of the club before the deadline.
There is no claim over who the player might be, although Forest have been linked with Trevoh Chalobah before.
A number of players including Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Chalobah are available for transfer before the window slams shut.
Forest should look to raid Chelsea
Although the Blues as a football club are hardly an example of how to recruit and run like a proper business, they are a club that regularly qualifies for European football.
With that in mind, it would make sense for Forest to try and poach a couple of their players who aren’t wanted.
Someone like Sterling might provide a bit of an X-Factor to Forest for the campaign and it would definitely excite the fan base.
In fairness, it would more likely be someone like Chalobah who has been offered the Reds.
Now, ahead of the deadline, it will be fascinating to see if anything else comes out over Forest wanting to sign one of Chelsea’s players.
