Nottingham Forest-linked 26-year-old teases that he’s now ready to leave his club after six years

Nottingham Forest-linked goalkeeper Alvaro Valles has been quizzed on his future after hearing that Premier League clubs want to sign him.

In fairness, Forest might want Valles but they have to sort out their own Premier League status first.

After last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Everton, the Reds are still just a point clear of the relegation zone with four games left to play.

Forest have gone through a number of goalkeepers this season, with Belgian stopper Matz Sels the current number one.

Matt Turner has had a period on the side, whilst Odysseas Vlachodimos also signed last summer but hasn’t exactly pulled up any trees.

Now, Forest have been linked with Valles and he’s been quizzed over his future, with clubs vying to sign the Las Palmas performer.

Forest-linked Valles delivers update on his future

Well, it would definitely seem as though the goalkeeper is dropping hints that his future might be away from his current club.

It does feel like he would consider a move to a bigger club but also that he won’t go pursuing a move off his own accord.

The 26-year-old will have just a year remaining on his existing deal during the summer and that will alert clubs towards his services.

However, Forest-linked Valles feels quite relaxed and it would appear that he’s not unhappy at Las Palmas if he has to stay there.

He told the Las Palmas official website: “I’m very good here, if one day I have to try it, I’m not going to say no either, they are experiences, this is my first experience away from home since I’ve been there for six years.

“If any new experience comes when I have to come, I will welcome it.”

Valles penned a contract with Las Palmas in 2018 and he’s been between the posts pretty much ever since.

Valles could be useful signing for Nuno Espirito Santo

Well, Valles would be some addition to the Forest ranks and if survival is secured a new goalkeeper will almost certainly be on the agenda for the recruitment staff.

It seems quite feasible that both Turner and Vlachodimos will leave Forest in the summer with both short of game time at the moment.

That will leave Sels as the only senior goalkeeper at the club, with Wayne Hennessey also out of contract at the end of this season.

Valles has made 132 appearanckes for Las Palmas and this is perhaps his clearest hint yet that he’s prepared to leave the La Liga outfit.

At 26, the goalkeeper looks at a nice age to be making the move to Forest and this could be a deal that makes a lot of sense if the Reds can pull it off this summer.

First, however, they will have to stay in the Premier League.
