Head of academy Chris McGuane says the 16-year-old’s signing is evidence that Forest are “competing for the best talent” out there

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that Northern Ireland youngster Scott Hamilton has joined the club. The 16-year-old forward has agreed a two-year scholarship deal and will link up with the club’s Under 18 squad.

Hamilton joins Forest from Linfield and has already spent pre-season with the Premier League outfit.

Head of Academy Chris McGuane believes Hamilton’s signing is evidence that Forest are “competing for the best talent” out there.

Nottingham Forest said on their website: “Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm Scott Hamilton has joined the Club as a scholar, as part of the Under-18 squad. Having enjoyed a strong pre-season already with the team, Hamilton will continue his development at the Club, joining as a scholar on a two-year deal, with the Club retaining an option for an additional year.
