Eddie Nketiah’s Move to Forest Falls Through

The Athletic has reported that Nottingham Forest’s move for Arsenal forward Nketiah has broken down despite the clubs achieving a breakthrough in talks a few days back.
Arsenal had initially rejected Forest’s opening bid of £25 million, asking the club to pay more if they wanted to secure the services of Nketiah. The Reds eventually decided to yield to the North London club’s demands.
In his pre-season predictions, Sky Sports Pundit Jamie Carragher had tipped Forest to return to the Championship come May. A striker of Nketiah’s quality would have helped prevent such a scenario. The English international has 43 goals and eight assists in 187 senior appearances.
Will Nketiah Remain at Arsenal or Move Elsewhere?
The Athletic also adds that the 25-year-old is still expected to leave Arsenal before the summer transfer window ends. Palace are now said to be contemplating a move for Nketiah.

After being linked to multiple clubs like Marseille and Bournemouth, Nketiah was seemingly close to a Forest move. But now those hopes have been shattered, and instead, a transfer to Crystal Palace might materialise.
Arsenal’s insistence that interested clubs meet their valuation of Nketiah has been playing spoilsport in the transfer for the striker. Most sides are reluctant to pay such a huge sum.
Gabriel Jesus’ injury might still offer Nketiah a chance to remain in North London. But the injury is not thought to be serious, and the Brazilian might return soon.
If Arsenal are to fulfill their aim of bringing in another forward to bolster their attack, Nketiah will have to leave the club.
