Newcastle United Are Keeping Tabs On This Leicester City Midfielder: Good Option For Howe?

Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer.

In a recent report, The Daily Mirror mentioned that Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. It has been revealed that the Magpies are monitoring the English talent but could face competition from Brighton and Hove Albion in pursuit of him this summer.

Dewsbury-Hall’s Impressive Form In The Championship

The 25-year-old is enjoying a great campaign at the Midlands club as he has managed to produce several match-winning displays for them in the EFL Championship. Dewsbury-Hall has been involved in 46 matches for the Foxes this season, scoring 12 times and picking up 14 assists in the process across all fronts.

The English talent has given a good account of himself in the middle of the park by averaging 1.1 tackles, 2.1 shots, 2.6 key passes, 1.4 crosses and 1.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the English Championship. He has even been careful when distributing possession after making 83.8% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the King Power Stadium will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for the Magpies to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Is Dewsbury-Hall A Good Option For Newcastle United?

Dewsbury-Hall is a solid tackler of the ball and can even create some decent chances for his teammates in and around the opponent’s penalty area. He can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range and is a good dribbler as well.

The English sensation has done well to chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals in the final third. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a holding midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed.

Dewsbury-Hall would bring more goals and creativity to Newcastle‘s midfield department. He is good enough to earn a regular starting spot at St. James’ Park in the coming years
