Newcastle Are ‘Tracking’ The £12-Million-Rated Winger, Who Has Also Been Linked With Sunderland And Sheffield United

Newcastle are apparently interested in Argentine winger Benjamin Rollheiser, who was previously linked with a transfer to Sunderland.

According to Alan Nixon of The Sun, the Black Cats were considering an ‘ambitious’ loan move for the 23-year-old in the closing few days of the transfer window, but a deal could not be done due to third-party ownership of the player.

Rollheiser has remained with Argentine club Estudiantes, where he has been a regular this season. Newcastle is monitoring the player’s growth, according to the Argentine newspaper Ole, and it is hoped that numerous clubs will be interested in the teenager by the end of the season.

Burnley and Sheffield United have also expressed interest in Rollheiser, who has represented Argentina at the under-23 level. National publications reportedly stated the 23-year-old was scheduled to join Zenit St Petersburg for £12 million over the summer, but the deal fell through.
