Newcastle and Nottingham Forest eyeing £30m player set to be sold by English club

Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest look set for a busy end to the transfer window as they look to apply the finishing touches to their respective squads.

The Magpies have made five new signings this summer, while the Reds have brought eight new players to the City Ground.

Both Newcastle and Nottingham Forest will be eager to improve on how they fared last season.

Eddie Howe’s charges finished outside of the European places, while Nuno Espirito Santo’s side finished 17th in the standings.

With just a week left until the window shuts, clubs will likely be stepping up their transfer activities.

Newcastle and Forest are among the Premier League teams that are now pondering a move for a player who is set to be offloaded by a relegated English side.

Newcastle and Nottingham Forest keen on James Trafford

TBR Football understands that Burnley are ready to let James Trafford leave this month and there is major interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Trafford almost joined Newcastle earlier this summer, but that move broke down.

However, since then Burnley have bolstered their own goalkeeping ranks with the signings of Etienne Green and Vaclav Hladky and they are ready to allow Trafford to leave.

TBR understands that a number of clubs have spoken to Burnley about a possible deal for Trafford before the window closes.

TBR has been told that Newcastle retain some interest, however, we can also reveal that Forest, Bournemouth, Leicester and Southampton are also keen.
