Before the NBA season, Bronson James is prepared for a “heightened level of pressure” with his father, Leonard, at the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bronny James spent one season with the University of Southern California before entering the NBA Draft last week, and perhaps inevitably he was drafted to play alongside father – Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James- for the coming season. Speaking at a press conference with his new team-mates, the younger James said that he would be able to cope with the extra scrutiny coming his way.

Bronny James knows “there’s an amplified amount of pressure on him” after signing to play for the Los Angeles Lakers alongside father LeBron James.

The 19-year-old is set to play alongside NBA legend LeBron after he was selected in the NBA Draft last week, after a season with the University of Southern California.

He was picked No. 55 overall, and he will doubtless be compared to his 39-year-old father, who is a four-time NBA Finals winner and the NBA’s highest-ever points scorer.

The Lakers endured a poor season last year and relieved head coach Darvin Ham of his duties as a response, and there had also been speculation that the older James could consider bringing the curtains down on his career.

However, he will now play at least one more season and do so alongside his son.

Speaking at a press conference before his first training session with his new team-mates, Bronny conceded there was pressure on him given that connection
