Motherwell matchup foreseen by Rangers: 26-year-old replaces Oscar Cortes

Rangers’ schedule doesn’t stop playing as they get ready for their third straight week against Motherwell.

With the Steelmen in town this afternoon, the Gers, who have not lost in eleven games [FotMob] since the end of the winter break, will need to make some stops at Ibrox.

For the crucial midweek trip to Kilmarnock, Philippe Clement made three changes to his team following last Saturday’s 5-0 demolition of Hearts in Govan.

These changes, especially starting Borna Barisic in place of Ridvan Yilmaz, backfired on the Belgian, as Rangers trailed 1-0 at the half in Ayrshire.

However, Rangers’ fortunes were turned around by the arrival of Dujon Sterling, Yilmaz, and Cyriel Dessers in the second half, and ultimately, a thrilling 2-1 victory was achieved.

What changes will Clement make to his starting lineup against Motherwell this afternoon? He enjoys making small adjustments. This is our Rangers starting lineup for the Scottish Premiership match today.

Oscar Cortes by Scott Wright

Oscar Cortes has been one of Rangers’ best players lately, but on Wednesday night at Rugby Park, his development was cruelly cut short.

The Colombian winger suffered a hamstring injury and had to be taken off during the second-half. Scott Wright was the man who replaced Cortes and it’s almost certain the former Aberdeen man will start this afternoon.

Elsewhere, Dessers should come back into the starting fold after Fabio Silva’s underwhelming individual display against Kilmarnock. We also expect Yilmaz to be named from the start by Clement.

Tom Lawrence was the matchwinner in midweek but did receive treatment on the pitch in the second-half. We believe the Welshman will take a place on the bench for the Motherwell game.
