AC Milan are looking to add at least one more midfielder during the current mercato, and they like the idea of adding Lazar Samardzic to the squad, but they will face competition.
On paper, Milan have a large number of midfielders, but there can be complaints about the coverage that they actually have, and this is why Paulo Fonseca is looking to rebuild the midfield somewhat.
There has been a long-term desire to add a more defensively-minded profile to the mix, and there is a lot of work being done to add Youssouf Fofana to the side’s ranks, albeit there have been difficulties in achieving the feat.
Elsewhere, Samardzic is being considered as a profile of interest, and there have been discussions between the Rossoneri and the player’s agents about the possibility of him joining the club.
However, there have been reports since, stating that the club must part ways with some players before any more can join. As such, it seems a move is on hold.
Interest in Samardzic is not just held by Milan, though, and a report from Milan News has suggested that Atalanta are ‘studying’ the midfielder, but Udinese are waiting for concrete steps to be made, by La Dea, or someone else.
