Justin Jefferson, a Minnesota Vikings star, enters a contract year with all the cards. After an incredible four-year run that included four straight 1000-yard seasons, the 24-year-old wide receiver is now one of the most sought-after players in the NFL.
Jefferson has made it known that he is seeking a massive new contract, and it appears like the Vikings are willing to play ball. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported recently that the organization is working on an extension to sign the receiver on a long-term deal.
“The Viking are trying to get a contract extension done,” said Graziano. “Jefferson is likely to set the top of the receiver market whenever he signs, and his deal is certain to pay him more than $30 million per year.

Jefferson is set to earn $19.7 million in 2024 but the Vikings would be wise to lock up one the the NFL’s elite players in the coming months. If not, there is a possibility Jefferson could wait it out and test the free agent market next offseason.
2022 was a standout year for Jefferson who finished with an incredible 1809 receiving yards, 128 receptions and nine total touchdowns. Injuries limited his time on the field in 2023 but the Louisiana native still managed to record five touchdowns and 1047 yards in just 10 games.
Earlier in the year Jefferson said he was looking to “break the bank” when discussing his new contract. His new deal would likely make him one of the highest paid receivers in the league. Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill is currently the highest earner with a $30 million yearly contract.
