A former player believes that things don’t appear good for the former hot seat holder as they begin their Ibrox period under new management.
Rangers have been given new life by him, and Philippe Clement’s promising beginning hasn’t been seen favorably by his predecessor.
Although they have won all of their domestic games thus far, they are currently eight points behind Celtic in the Premiership with a game remaining before the November international break, despite having had a great start to life under the new manager. After suffering losses to Kilmarnock and Celtic, Michael Beale’s awful start to the season was made worse by a 3-1 loss to Aberdeen.
That was enough for the Rangers board to pull the trigger and former defender Craig Moore think it’s the energy, desire and work ethic in Clement’s team that has been the biggest difference between the two gaffers so far. And it isn’t a great reflection for Beale amid a new mentality being discovered. He told Go Radio: “Rangers, you can see clear signs of improvement but what I would say is they haven’t been playing amazing football.
“The difference, which for me is a bit of a slap in the face for Michael Beale, is energy, desire, and willingness to work.. That clearly wasn’t the situation in the backend of Michael Beale’s time.
“That should be a given. With a new manager coming in, the clean slate, a normal situation with the new manager. Rangers have found an energy and a mentality that has enabled them to go on and win games of football.
“At this moment in time it’s not been by playing amazing football. It’s being professional and getting the job done. I think that can only grow as the season kicks on, and I think it will be a title race.”
