Marseille are now pushing hard to beat Nottingham Forest to the signing of Gio Reyna before the transfer window closes.
This is according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
So, what is the latest development with Forest-linked Reyna? Let’s take a closer look…
Marseille now pushing to beat Forest to Gio Reyna signing
It would appear now as though other clubs across Europe have been alerted to the availability of Reyna.
Last night, it was claimed that Forest had agreed personal terms with Reyna and that a move wasn’t far from being completed.
Even earlier today, Florian Plettenberg went on Sky Sports to say that he expects Reyna to sign for Forest in the coming days.
Now, Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Marseille are in advanced talks with Reyna over his potential signing from Dortmund.
The player is keen to leave the Bundesliga outfit this month over a lack of game time – with Forest keen on the 21-year-old.
Forest-linked Reyna has come through the youth academy with Dortmund and has registered 33 goal contributions in 120 appearances.
Forest could now be up against it in player chase
Marseille would provide an attractive proposition for Reyna given that they’re in the Europa League at present.
As Reyna has played in the Champions League this season, he would still be eligible to play for the Ligue 1 outfit in their European campaign.
Forest would have been naive to presume they wouldn’t face interest for such a talented player and now they must do whatever they can to swing things.
Evangelos Marinakis holding a strong rapport with Jorge Mendes could help – and also the fact that Reyna seems keen to come to Forest.
This certainly looks like one to watch between now and the end of the transfer window next Thursday.
