Maria Sharapova has said that she and Serena Williams have formed a great relationship in their post-tennis lives, with the two occasionally messaging and chatting. There was speculation early on in the Sharapova-Williams rivalry that the two tennis superstars did not get along. That was something that followed their rivalry throughout their careers, but it was also something that always added something extra to their games.
Sharapova, a 37-year-old Russian tennis legend, retired from pro tennis in January 2020, while Williams, a 42-year-old American icon, ended her career at the US Open two years prior.
During her visit to Wimbledon and a discussion with Tennis Channel, Sharapova made a revelation. “Now we can reflect on the past and laugh about it.” I also see that she now has two children and an exceptionally strong business platform. “Yeah, we have a lot of fun, and we have some good phone conversations,” Sharapova told Tennis Channel.
