It’s a difficult industry. Being an NFL player comes with risks and rewards, so it’s not for the timid.
The current Super Bowl MVP and wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, Cooper Kupp, is all too familiar with this.
Cooper Kupp, a superstar for the Los Angeles Rams, is out with a leg injury.
Not only did the Los Angeles Rams lose on Sunday, this time to the NFC rival Arizona Cardinals, but they also lost their star wide receiver Cooper Kupp to a potentially fatal leg injury in the fourth quarter of the game.
Kupp, who attended Eastern Washington University and Davis High School in Yakima, suffered what Rams coach Sean McVay described as a high ankle sprain. Due to the injury, surgery involving a tightrope procedure was necessary on Wednesday. Here, the ankle is stabilized using strong sutures, which are said to be replacing the injured ligament.
What Effects Will Cooper Kupp’s Surgery Have on the Los Angeles Rams and Their Fans?
A typical recovery period of five to six weeks would see us almost through the regular season, if not through Christmas. Given their current record of 3-6 and their position at the bottom of the NFC West, the Rams probably wouldn’t be in a hurry to get Cooper back on the field.

Not just the Rams supporters, but also those of us who support the hometown hero, find that to be a bitter pill to swallow. It’s affecting fantasy football enthusiasts quite severely. Recall that despite the Rams’ dismal start to the season, Cooper Kupp was a Triple Crown receiver, the MVP of the Super Bowl, and he was amassing impressive stats of his own. Although I’m not an expert in fantasy football, I would assume that Kupp will put his health and recovery first before I anticipate seeing him play again this season.
