Liverpool Suffer Another Injury Setback As Alisson Is Ruled Out Of The Brentford Match After Picking Up A ‘Hamstring Issue’ In Training… As Jurgen Klopp’s Side Now Has EIGHT Players Unavailable.

 

Jurgen Klopp’s injury issue deepened on Friday after Alisson was ruled out of their upcoming match against Brentford due to an injury sustained during training earlier that day.

There is suspicion that it is a hamstring problem, but Mail Sport understands that Alisson has remained in Merseyside for further investigation.

The goalkeeper was absent from the Reds’ 3-1 triumph over Burnley last weekend due to flu, but Klopp confirmed earlier on Friday that he had recovered, saying: ‘Ali is back (from sick), so that is all fantastic.’


Despite this, it appears that the shot stopper picked up the problem in training later that afternoon, and Kelleher will now play for Liverpool at the G-Tech Community Stadium on Saturday.

The 31-year-old had previously missed three games this season due to a hamstring injury, but it’s a worrying sign for Klopp, who now has eight players out with injuries.
The Reds will also be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is still recovering from a knee ligament problem and is likely, according to the Liverpool boss, to miss their midweek clash against Luton and the EFL Cup final against Chelsea the following Sunday.

When asked whether Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai would make it back in time for that match, Klopp said : ‘Yeah, again, it’s a super-intense period.
