The 2025 road cycling season is coming to an end, and Il Lombardia is the last major race in the calendar. Nicknamed as the Classic of the falling (dead) leaves, it is the hardest and most mountainous amongst the five monuments. It features 238.8km and 8 categorized ascents, making it the ideal terrain for climbers. As usual in every race he participates in, Tadej Pogacar comes as the undisputed favourite. He has won the previous four editions, and he is looking to finish off a historic season with another victory, which would be his 20th win in 2025. He will be surrounded by the strongest squad in the world, with Isaac del Toro and Adam Yates as co-leaders in case something goes wrong with the Slovenian.
