Leeds United could still be able to offer Joe Rodon what he’s looking for in the next step

Leeds United could still be able to offer Joe Rodon what he’s looking for in the next step of his career, despite their failure to secure promotion to the Premier League.

Much of the Whites’ success this season was built on a strong backline, with Welsh defender Rodon partnering international team-mate Ethan Ampadu in the heart of the Leeds defence. The 26-year-old impressed after arriving on loan from Tottenham, but he is set to rejoin Spurs now his temporary spell at Elland Road is over.

It’s unclear whether he features in Ange Postecoglou’s plans in North London, but it seems likely that he could leave the club this summer. Signing Rodon on a permanent deal would be a big boost to Daniel Farke’s 2025 promotion plans, although whether Leeds face Premier League competition for his signature remains to be seen.

One thing for certain is how much Rodon has enjoyed his time in West Yorkshire, and that could yet be the key in his next move. He has spoke about looking for consistency, having had a season on loan at French side Rennes before his Leeds move.
