Latest update now given on Joe Rodon’s future after Leeds United lose play-off final

Joe Rodon’s long-term future at Leeds United now looks uncertain after the play-off final defeat to Southampton on Sunday.

The Whites face a potentially difficult window ahead having become the only one of the three relegated sides not to bounce back at the first attempt, with Leicester City winning the title.

With that in mind, Leeds know that key player sales will be required this summer and due to the need to raise some funds before June 30, it could have a knock-on effect on potential incomings.

Leeds currently owe a total of £190 million in unpaid transfer instalments, but the club’s official accounts make it clear that only £73.6 million needs paying this summer.

Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams have already been sold within this financial year, but according to finance expert Kieran Maguire, Leeds will need to ensure ‘old player acquisitions’ are sorted before they can spend.
