The LA Clippers face off against the Miami Heat tonight, but the best players of both teams may not be available for the game.
The Clippers have two players listed on their injury report: Kawhi Leonard and Mason Plumlee. Kawhi Leonard is questionable with a left hip contusion and has not played since December 21 against the Dallas Mavericks. He’s finally practicing with the team, so it sounds like the odds of Kawhi playing seem higher now than in previous games. Mason Plumlee is also questionable with a left MCL sprain. Plumlee has not played in a game since November 7 against the New York Knicks. Paul George, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook are all listed as available.
The Miami Heat have eight players listed on their injury report: Jimmy Butler, Haywood Highsmith, Kyle Lowry, Caleb Martin, Josh Richardson, Orlando Robinson, Dru Smith, and Cole Swider. Jimmy Butler is out with a right foot irritation, Haywood Highsmith is doubtful due to a jaw contusion, Kyle Lowry is questionable due to a head contusion, Caleb Martin is doubtful with a right ankle sprain, Josh Richardson is questionable with facet syndrome in his left back, Orlando Robinson is questionable due to a G League assignment, Dru Smith is out with right knee surgery, and Cole Swider is questionable due to a G League two-way.
The Heat are severely shorthanded against the Clippers, but they’ve still been capable of winning while undermanned. The LA Clippers and Miami Heat face off at 10:30 p.m. EST tonight.
