Ken Roczen statement as he Suzuki Takes the Red Plate in 450SX for the First Time in Years: “A Night to Remember”

In a remarkable turn of events, Ken Roczen has clinched the coveted red plate in the 450SX class aboard his Suzuki, marking the first time in years that the brand has led the championship standings. This achievement not only underscores Roczen’s exceptional talent but also signifies a significant milestone for Suzuki in the premier class.

Reflecting on this accomplishment, Roczen shared, “I was reminiscing about the red plate last week. If I could have made the pass for third, I could have shared it with Eli, which would have been really rad. Besides having the red plate frequently in 2022, I haven’t had a taste of it in a long time, especially not on yellow, so it’s just a dream come true.”

Roczen’s journey back to the top has been anything but smooth. After a series of injuries and challenges over the past few years, his recent performances have silenced doubters and showcased his resilience. His partnership with Suzuki, a brand he has enjoyed success with in the past, has proven fruitful once again.

He further elaborated on his feelings, stating, “If someone had told me you are going to have the red plate after three rounds, I would have been like, ‘Are you sure?’ But it’s pretty rock and roll, I am not going to lie. I am just going to enjoy the moment, and of course, the work doesn’t stop. I am just going to try and put it on the box as much as I can.”

This achievement is not just a personal victory for Roczen but also a testament to the efforts of the entire Suzuki team. Their collaboration and dedication have propelled them back into the spotlight of the 450SX championship.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Roczen and his Suzuki as they aim to maintain their lead and continue this impressive run. For now, Roczen and his team are relishing this “night to remember,” celebrating a hard-earned and well-deserved milestone in their racing

journey.
